Metalworker Rebecca Gouldson has her first solo show at the Edinburgh Printmakers until the 24th of May. Using etching techniques she has produced a body of brass, copper and silver works which explore Britons industrial heritage. Taking inspiration her grandfathers shipbuilding manuals and ephemera, circular plaques show chart details. Other work is influenced by patterns found in architecture and textures from mono-print experiments.

Supplementing the metal pieces, Gouldson has worked with printmaker Bronwen Sleigh to produce a series of printed works, layering plates and colours to form serene circular prints on a square ground.

The process of preparing for the exhibition is detailed on her Industrial Shift Blog.
