Faisal Abdu’Allah: Squad is on at the Edinburgh Printmakers until the 18th of July 2015.
Two bodies of thought provoking print work are exhibited by Faisal Abdu’Allah in collaboration with LGBT Youth Scotland. The first part has large scale portraits blown up from film to wallpaper – life-size, looking at you, and fragmented through the visible grain. The background desaturated to allow the subject to stand out, confident and bright in their surroundings. The second part of the exhibition is glue screenprints of the Squad’s faces, flocked with human hair (which was gathered from the participants, cut fine and melded together to sprinkle over the print surface).
