Maud Sulter (1960-2008) an artist, photographer and writer, born in Glasgow of Ghanaian and Scottish descent. She explored alienation through the familiar and surreal – re-inventing the image of the muse, combining her heritages in image and poetry, photography and collage. Her successful career was cut short when she succumbed to illness at only 47.
