American Impressionism – A New Vision is on at the Dean Gallery (Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art) from the 19th of July to the 19th of October.
American Impressionism (Eleanor, Frank Weston Benson) GMA
The four sections of the exhibition are roughly divided into :
American artists living in Paris.
American artists trained in Paris.
American artists working in the US.
Later American Impressionism and ‘The Ten’.
The latter two sections contained some beautiful renderings of the American landscape which contrasted well with the more popular art of the first two.
