Errol village is set on a hill that at one time would have been an island rising out of the marshes of the Carse of Gowrie. The prominent church was widely known as the “Cathedral of the Carse”. Local industries have included Inchcoonans Brickworks utilising the ice age clay deposits, the Cairn O’Mohr winery and thatch reeds.
