Street Portrait

Street photography is a common past time in Edinburgh during the Festival where the larger than life fringe characters roam the city. When the visitors have left the city remains, and the festivals remainders combine, weathering to form new vistas.

Marchmont Street escapes most of the hustle and bustle, in the late afternoon with the school shut for the summer the street is silent under a blue sky. Throngs of fringe visitors surge past the top of  Guthrie Street heading for the C Venue, the Inside Out project has been here. Pasting portraits round the town. A second exposure of the film results in a round strangers face already adorned by graffiti.
