The Thames path gives views to The City. Kodak Ektar100.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Thames_Tunnel\" target=\"_blank\">Thames Tunnel<\/a> was built beneath the River Thames in London to connect Rotherhithe and Wapping and was the first tunnel known to have been constructed successfully underneath a navigable river. Built between 1825 and 1843, using Marc Isambard Brunel&#8217;s and Thomas Cochrane&#8217;s newly invented tunnelling shield technology, by Brunel and his son Isambard Kingdom Brunel.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/enr.me.uk\/fromthenegative\/2015\/06\/20\/journey-to-rotherhithe\/forblog3\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-679\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-679\" src=\"https:\/\/enr.me.uk\/fromthenegative\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/ForBlog3.jpg\" alt=\"Thames Tunnel\" width=\"427\" height=\"640\" srcset=\"https:\/\/enr.me.uk\/fromthenegative\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/ForBlog3.jpg 427w, https:\/\/enr.me.uk\/fromthenegative\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/ForBlog3-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 427px) 100vw, 427px\" \/><\/a>A shaft was sunk in Rotherhithe to allow access to the dig and it is now capped above the working train tunnel.
