{"id":11,"date":"2012-07-05T15:47:25","date_gmt":"2012-07-05T15:47:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/enr.me.uk\/fromthenegative\/?p=11"},"modified":"2012-07-05T15:48:16","modified_gmt":"2012-07-05T15:48:16","slug":"world-press-photo-2012","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/enr.me.uk\/fromthenegative\/2012\/07\/05\/world-press-photo-2012\/","title":{"rendered":"World Press Photo 2012"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An exhibition of the <a title=\"World Press Photo\" href=\"http:\/\/www.worldpressphoto.org\/Exhibition\/2012_Edinburgh\" target=\"_blank\">World Press Photo winners of 2012 opened at the Scottish Parliament<\/a> last night, kicked off by a talk from Multimedia winner photojournalist Ilvy Njiokiktjien (made in conjunction with\u00a0journalist\/videographer Elles van Gelder)\u00a0about the right-wing organization Kommandokorps in South Africa.\u00a0Ilvy Njiokiktjien, a relative newcomer to multimedia works, said that sometimes pictures were not enough, you had to hear the voice to believe the story. The multimedia helped them sell the whole story &#8211; the photographs and research that gave context to the film. Having\u00a0travelled\u00a0the length of Africa by car she has seen many stories that need told, an hour to change a persons outlook can be used for hope as well as hate.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/BFWEtdZ5TWA\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition has moments and stories from around the world, both hopeful and sad, shocking and beautiful.
